THE METHOD

A name is only the first decision.

Mythos Forge is made for the moment after a good result appears: when you need a role, a place, a pressure, or a reason to keep building.

Start with a deliberate rule set

Each name generator has its own curated parts and assembly rules. A dragon name can lean into older, harder endings; a tavern name can combine a memorable sign with a useful social setting; a Viking-inspired name can use a different sound pattern and surname logic. Filters are not decorative labels: style, sound, length, and other controls change the pool and the way a result is assembled.

This makes the fast result repeatable and inspectable. You are not asked to accept a single mysterious answer; you can adjust the recipe, generate again, copy a candidate, or keep a shortlist.

Build outward, one useful choice at a time

The product flow is intentionally small: name a character, give that character a thread, place a town or kingdom, then collect the work in an archive. A dragon name can become a title, a motive, a homeland, and a conflict. A town can become a tavern, an NPC, and a session hook. The goal is not to produce a finished novel at one click. It is to remove the blank-page moment without replacing the creator's choices.

Use the Character Name Generator when a person needs a starting point, then move to the Backstory Generator or Town Name Generator when that result needs context.

Where AI is — and is not — used

Names, short traits, places, prompts, and most world attributes are generated from local procedural rules and edited pools. They stay fast, inexpensive, and controllable. The optional Scene Forge can use AI only when you deliberately ask for a short prose scene from details you have already selected. It is rate-limited, clearly separate from the core name tools, and not used to invent historical claims.

What a result means

A suggested tone is a writing cue, not an etymology, translation, trademark clearance, or cultural certification. Generated material is a creative starting point. Before publishing a name commercially or using a real culture as direct inspiration, revise it, research it, and make the final call yourself.
